BA strike impacts on Madeira

Hundreds of visitors lost

In the face of the strike by pilots commencing this morning, it appears that BA has had no choice but to cancel almost all of their flights scheduled for today and tomorrow.

The strike is expected to affect tens of thousands of travellers as the company operates around 850 daily flights in the United Kingdom, mostly from London Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

One flight was scheduled to leave for Madeira today from Gatwick, but due to this strike, the flight BA2780 has already been cancelled. It was scheduled to arrive at Madeira – Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport at 16:30 and hundreds of passengers are affected. Another flight is scheduled for tomorrow, due to arrive in Madeira at 18:15.
