Wind warning extended
The Journal reports that Portuguese Weather Institute (IPMA) have extended the yellow warning first reported here yesterday to the whole of the island of Madeira.
Forecasts initially pointed only to wind in the mountainous regions, but the information on the IPMA website is that the wind on the north and south coasts of Madeira could alsoalso reach 75 km/h, which has led to the issuance of a yellow alert, to be in force between 8:00 am and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. In mountainous areas, the gusts can reach 100 km/h, and the alert extends until 21:00.
