Lions Club fair this weekend
The Lions Club of Funchal will hold their annual Christmas Fair this weekend (December 1st and 2nd), at their headquarters in Rua Imperatriz D. Amélia, just alongside the Prince Albert pub, with the aim of raising funds for social projects. On sale will be various products, including books, decorative items, traditional flowers, orchids, biscuits and cakes. will be open from 10.30 am to 7.00 pm, and there will be a tea service, accompanied by homemade cakes.
The Funchal Lions Club is a Non-Profit Organisation, founded in 1966. It is part of the Lions District 115 of Portugal, which has 56 clubs and 1449 members. It is one of the largest international service club organisations in the world dedicated to humanitarian services, founded by Melvin Jones in the United States in 1917. Currently, there are more than 46,000 Lions Clubs spread across 210 countries worldwide, with more than 1.4 million members.
