SATA strengthens Azores – Madeira link.

SATA reinforces Ponta Delgado – Funchal flights

The Journal reports that from the end of October, SATA Azores Airlines will strengthen the connections between the two autonomous regions. SATA will provide a connection between the island of Terceira and Oporto on Thursdays and reinforces the Ponta Delgada-Lisbon and Ponta Delgada-Funchal connections. It also increases the route between Ponta Delgada and Toronto to 4 frequencies per week, instead of 3, using the new A321neo fleet, commencing on December 17 this year.
After the above, SATA Azores Airlines now offers 68 weekly flights between the Continent and the Azores, 8 weekly flights between Madeira and the Azores, 18 weekly flights between North America and the Azores and 8 weekly flights between Europe/Macaronesia and the Azores. In total the airline is predicting a weekly increase of 974 places, adding an increase in the station of +21.428 places. With these changes, SATA Azores Airlines expects an increase in demand in the period from November 2018 to March 2019 in the order of 3% compared to the same period of last year.

  1. Bit off subject but not impressed with Cafofos pushing for Ryanair link between Funchal and Lisbon talk about cheap and cheerful more like screw the passengers and bleed them for loads of extras which no doubt will not be covered by the subsidies due to time levied and total lack of relevant paperwork. Be warned it was difficult enough with EasyJet it will be worse with Ryanair
