‘Craque’ Madeiran footballer Micael going to Atlético Madrid?
The Portuguese Press is reporting that Rúben Micael may transfer to Atlético de Madrid. The player from Câmara de Lobos would become a rival to the most famous Portuguese and Madeiran football player in the world Cristiano Ronaldo another Madeiran who plays for Real Madrid.

Yes, Lisbon may be beginning a wrenching austerity programme, agreed as part of its €78bn bail-out. And yes, the country’s bonds suffered recent downgrades because debt analysts do not think Lisbon will be able hit the bail-out’s debt and deficit targets.

But during the second quarter of the year, the Portuguese economy was flat –a significant improvement after two quarters of 0.6 per cent shrinkage, and much better than the 1.1 per cent decrease that analysts predicted. The better-than-expected numbers, driven largely by a 5.3 per cent increase in exports, is particularly good news for those watching the bail-out programme, which sets its targets based on economic growth assumptions.”
