One new case, one remains in hospital
The Diario reports that the number of cases in the archipelago has risen by just one to just 21. The figures were revealed at the usual press conference held yesterday afternoon by IASAÚDE, the regional health authority.
20 patients are currently in isolation, 16 in their homes and the four Dutch citizens on an independent floor of Quinta do Lorde. The last one remains in the isolation unit at the main Funchal hospital, as his health status “requires differentiated care, although without the need for intensive care”.
One new case recorded in the Region is a Madeiran citizen from France, who arrived on the island on 8 March, but who has only developed symptoms more recently.
There are still two cases awaiting laboratory results, namely two tourists who arrived in Madeira today and who, due to symptoms at the airport, namely high temperature, were transported to the hospital.
