TODAY’S PHOTO : Thanks to Jon … Caldeira Verde

It’s amazing that every year after the São Pedro festival finishes, and the sellers stands on the beach are cleared away, hundreds and hundreds of seagulls arrive to clean up all the dropped food on the beach. They stay for a day or two, then off they go again until next year. I have two theories on the matter, the first being is that there is a seagull network and like jungle drums, the guardian seagull of Ribeira Brava gets the word out that there is free food for all the flocks. The second, and probably less likely theory, is that there is a head seagull, a General perhaps, that carries a diary around, and knows when to take the troops out for a slap up meal after each festa. Anyone else have a theory?
I don’t know if people already know about this, I only found it a few days ago. But it’s a very good (and free obviously) TV guide for Zon /CaboTV guide. MADEIRA ZON TV
