This website is pretty amazing and is absolutely full of news and facts and figures about Madeira, with tourist information (you can find all the restaurants in a town for example), has all the festival dates, and demographic statistics of all sorts. It is in Portuguese, but I would recommend it for research and general information. Well the voting for the European elections was easy, in the 5 minutes I was in the polling station nobody came in, and I think the three clerks were bored to tears. Only two foreigners on the eligible voters list, and the other one hadn’t arrived yet, so that was a bit of a highlight for the team there. Fantastic weather here yesterday, and the beach was well busy (and even had two life guards!), so I guess voter turnout here will be low. The results should all be in by now, so will post something later on that subject.
