Prices up 3% year-on-year
House rental prices per square metre increased 3.4% nationally in January compared to the same month of 2019, the same rate as in the previous month, with the Lisbon region (pictured) standing out with the most intense growth, the Institute for National Statistics (INE) said today.
According to the highlights of the INE report on the Consumer Price Index (IPC), in January “all regions presented positive year-on-year variations in house rental prices, with Lisbon registering the most intense increase (4.1%)”.
As for the average value of housing rents, it registered a monthly rise of 0.3%, a value 0.1 percentage points higher than that recorded in the previous month.
Madeira is the region with the highest growth
The region with the highest monthly increase in this indicator was Madeira, with a rate of 1.0% month-on-month, and the only region that registered a negative monthly variation was the Azores, with a rate of -0.2%.
