First Madeira flight cancelled due to fuel strike

easyJet cancels flight to the island

The Journal reports that fuel tankers strike on the mainland has started to affect Madeira, with the first flight being cancelled to the island tonight. easyJet cancelled the flight due to arrive in the region at 8:40 pm, information confirmed to JM by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal.

Passengers are being rerouted to the next available flights but the problem is that all flights until next Friday are sold out, except for the 7:10 am tomorrow flight which at the moment has a few seats still available. is not clear if passengers in this situation can switch to TAP.
