Number of TAP passengers up 13.6% until September and exceeds 12 million
The Diario reports that national carrier TAP transported more than 12 million passengers up to September this year, an increase of 13.6% compared to the same period last year, it was announced yesterday. The routes between Lisbon and Porto, Madeira and Paris are the three in which TAP registered more transport, with a total of 191,000 passengers. If they hadn’t cancelled so many flights to Madeira they would have done even better!
“In the first nine months of 2018, the company has already surpassed the 12 million passenger mark, continuing to record successive records in its main activity. A brand that has already surpassed the 11.7 million passengers transported by the company throughout the year 2016”, TAP said in a statement.
In September the airline carried 1.48 million passengers, with an occupancy rate of 82.3%, in line with the average of 82.4% registered from January to September of the current year. Regarding cargo, in September, TAP transported 6,813 tons of cargo and mail, an increase of 8.5% over the same period last year.
