24 hours of rain forecast for Funchal.

Yellow warning for rain extended.

Forecast for Monday and TuesdayThe Diario reports that Portuguese “Met Office” (IPMA) has extended the yellow warning for the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo due to the forecast rain. IPMA indicate periods of rain or heavy downpours, accompanied by thunder, between the hours of 21.00 today and 21.00 tomorrow. The previous notice was only valid until 9 am on Monday. The Port Captain also issued a notice due to bad maritime visibility, in force until 07.00 tomorrow, recommending that vessels remain in port. 1. Next weekend looks “interesting” too!!
The American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane centre computer model is still predicting Tropical Storm Leslie to pass close to Madeira.
Windfinder.com is forecasting winds gusting upto 45 knots late Saturday into Sunday for FNC.

  2. The storm followed us from Calheta to Funchal as we returned on the No80 from Porto Moniz. Thankfully only had to hop over from Edificio Oudinot to Anadia Shopping so didn’t get soaked.

Hope something to watch on telly on Monday!
