Gray day forecast

The Diario reports this morning that a gray day (or should it be “grey day”?) is forecast with rainy periods in some areas of Madeira by IPMA, the Portuguese Met Office, for today (Tuesday). The sky will generally be very cloudy and periods of generally weak rain will be recorded, especially in the north slopes and in the uplands. In Funchal, the sky will also be very cloudy, but no rain is forecast. The wind will be weak (less than 15 km/h).  A slight rise in temperature is predicted with temperatures between 18ºC and 24ºC.
As for the state of the sea today, IPMA predicts northwest waves of 2 to 3 metres in the North;  southwesterly waves of 1 to 2 metres on the south coast. The temperature of the sea water is 19ºC.

  1. In England the favoured spelling for grey is with an ‘e’. In the US it tends to be spelt ”gray”. Although our famous Poet spells his name with an ‘a’. Thomas Gray of “Elegy in a Country Churchyard” fame
