Many thanks for the bolo do caco recipe, noud. Roadside bakers tend to bake it on the top of their metal stoves, no caco, frigideira or anything.

www.stonegrills.uk, they are expensive but fantastic, you can cook anything on them, but pay the extra and go for the marble not granite

rib-eye steaks are the best, then put asparagus with salt, pepper and garlic butter on the steak juices, half pre-cook onions and mushrooms, then toss them on after the asparagus, i had 11 for dinner and i am not a very good cook, baked spuds in the oven it was a brilliant meal

p.s I am a terrible cook, even my kids beg me to bbq or get the steak stone out, a meal for 11 was a triumph

This how I make it

Ingredientes:
1,5 kg de farinha de trigo
água morna q.b
50 gr. de fermento de padeiro
sal fino q.b

Passado algum tempo, adicione a batata-doce assada.

Thanks for the Cruise ship link Mark.

Cristiano Ronaldos cousin died yesterday in a car accident at Canico, the car flip over off a motorway bridge, his funeral is today.

How do they know there are only 8 people missing, there has been one lady trying to contact a relaitive who is not on the missing list, she has posted help requests on other forums and also think i saw it on here, plus there seems to have been a big cover up to the amount of people that died, i thought this was just rumours at first.

Mmm think i might have a go at making Pastel Natas, it looks quite straight forward.

I dont think you will find Bolo do Caco anywhere with sweet potato Der, but i have seen recipes with it, as this is how it used to be made , i want to know where i could buy a stone to cook the bread on, any ideas???

Just coming back from Dolce Vita.

Not all stores are open and surely Pingo Doce is not. on the lowest level only two fast food outlets are open, but...Vania Fernandes is going to perform live at 6:30 pm inside on the stage at the Pingo Doce level.

From reading the blog, I see people often comment about cruise ships and their whereabouts. This is websites tracks crusie ships all over the world and is good for checking cruise ships approaching Madeira. It also gives details of sea temp, wind air temp, nautical miles run etc.

Hope it is of interest.

I would also like to thank all the contributors to the blog for keeping me up to date with events in Madeira, as it is long gone from main media sources in the UK. A special thanks to Tobi for his excellent work in uploading all the pcitures to Flickr before and after the recent floods, Thankyou so much. Really good to see such good progress in many areas.

Lets hope you get some good weather soon.

Local press in Amglia reported last evening that there were an increasing number of outbreaks "Winter Vomiting Disease" in the regional hospitals
Norovirus is highly contagious and lasts from 6 to 36 hours.
The sufferer is extremely sick and with diahorrea.
Brought into hospitals by visitors.
This could easily be exported to Madeira by English tourists.
I apologise on behalf of our region.

It will slacken as the ambient temperatures rise.
Will wash hands more frequently.
