@ Martin aboboras are left to dry. When drying the shell is getting thicker and hard and keeps the moister inside the fruit. It is a way to preserve them for a longer time.

indeed Martin the summer will be a scorcher, but not for the UK , it will be wet and windy with the odd sunny spell so people had better start looking for holiday rentals on

Not sure about canico , i think the car hire places in Funchal hire mountain bikes, especially now the new cycle lane is in place, the one just on the way down to the lido swimming area in that little shopping place on the right hired mountain bikes.

Hi Sue. There is a shop above Radio Popular in Cancela that hires out mountain bikes (never tried it myself and I wouldn’t want to!!!). I think there is shop in Canico that hires out motorbikes – not sure where as I think we have just driven past it. Perhaps Tobi might confirm that?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a clock repairer on Madeira? wall clock not enourmous but a weights and pendulum type one.

Second question does anyone hire bikes or motorbikes – energentic grandchildren arriving in May and insist they want to do the Island by bike as it is only 30 KMs long – they have to see to believe we think – but being the oldies we know nothing!
