Dutch food is excellent.
They know how to serve smashing mussels.
Just wait till they have a go at the local limpets.
Geneva gin gets you going!

Having visited the auction rooms on two occasions, I thought the old furniture on offer was made from the most beautiful mahogany.
The grain and colour of which was outstanding.
However, very few of the pieces were small enough for a modern home.
The style of the furniture would have limited appeal, I felt.
Pottery and silverware were sellable.
There was no jewellery.
The large mahogany pieces would do well as spare parts for repair work and could be sold for such in England and indeed mainland Europe.
The auction rooms should connect to the World Wide Web to attract bidders from abroad as is the custom in Britain.
The auction rooms should move to more suitable items to survive.
Brand new items such as ultra modern furniture and clothing, household goods and so on where purchasers could get a bargain against the inflated Madeiran shop. prices.
Even embroidery and cane work, where stock is needed to be cleared into cash.
Perhaps younger management would be a help.
