You are on the right track, but I fear for the wrong reasons on the other organism.

Are you sure you were struck by lightening Sam, and not hit by a power surge, albeit caused by a storm? The remedies would be different.

Do you need surge protections Samantha?
Is the problem caused by a huge increase in voltage?
Disconnection whilst out might prevent a fire!!

I must be the unluckiest person when it comes to storms here in Madeira. I got home last night to find that my Router had blown up along with my pc that I just laid out a load of dosh on to fix after the last one! Does anyone know anything about lightening conductor poles,cos I think I need one!

Ive always seen these small bananas in the fruit shops Der but have never tried them as they are a lot more expensive, if i say your vegetable is a close relation to the sweet potato am i close?

Well for once we were on the right side of the Island, we heard the storm had a flicker in electricity b……. the computer but only for seconds and we continued to watch the fantastic tennis match between Sonderling and Davedenko!

Back to the wheelchair and ramp problem we have tools how difficult is to make a ramp? Maybe we could have a fun day and make one? mind you they are “Sir’s tools” I can only do tiling and some woodwork (mu nailing is not always straight!).

I don’t know if Maria needs a special wheelchair, but the cost is incredible.

I had a scout around on the internet and saw plenty, with even the top of the range electric wheelchairs coming in at less than €2,000 (plus a hefty chunk in shipping charges probably)
