And I do not (also somewhat occasionally) read this blog because I believe it compulsory but because it seems to me a useful source of information. After all, you do go on reading, for example, the Diario, even though everything in it may not be your cup of tea. (AFAIK, the editors of that worthy publication do not tell irate readers to cancel subscriptions.)

As for contributing something positive, I did consider it, quite seriously – this blog is certainly a useful project. No longer, though. Comments like the one I objected to are not likely to attract new contributors.

BTW, humour in Svenland is alive and well. It just operates a bit differently.

If you don’t like what I say Sven go and pester some other blogger, no one is forcing you to read this blog. Obviously humour in Svenland has been abolished.

… or even better how about contributing something positive yourself for publishing, or is knocking others your preferred task in life.

Although some of us may find this hard to believe, some books are, indeed, written and, even worse, published for reasons other than financial gain. Irresponsible people out there just go on and on about things they feel strongly about, then pester the world for contributions so they can publish. They are, in fact, no better than some bloggers.

Or, putting it without the irony: the editorial comments on this blog are often to the point, and sometimes even (moderately) funny. But this one was just oafish.

Don’t have any local contacts, but anything you find out – I would be very interested. Can you post where your looking leads you?

Jon, thank you for all the information you passed on regarding solar panels, I am happy to confirm that we had ours installed last week by the local firm Giordano. Although we have mostly had to switch back to our boiler due to the weather of late we have been able to put it to good use an a couple of occasions including today when we bathed the dogs!
