Very impressive though! Sir thinks it could have been a Club Med II cruiser? but that has five masts, they could of course have only been using four, difficult to tell at a distance. A similar work is also displayed on the southern entrance wall – unique and certainly worth a “looksee”. As you promenade eastwards (towards the airport) one of the best remaining collection of indigenous Dragon trees (an oddly shaped tree with a bare trunk and a top-knot of multiple clusters of long, thin, grey-green leaves) is visible to your left and above – in fact, in a garden park above the coastal walkway. A great place for a picnic and some classical music – next to the music school. Great coastal views and opposite the superb local restaurant “Marisqueira do Mar” (seafood restaurant) that we love!
